Man Cave or Garage, sometimes they are one and the same, sometimes a man cave is a basement a bedroom or a home bar, wherever the place may be a man needs his own private personal space to hang out in.
When a man wants to get away from the stresses of the world he usually likes to retreat to his man cave to just be alone for awhile, maybe his man cave is where he works on his hobby, like cars or sports, maybe guitars or just chilling out and having a beer.
Wikipedia defines a man cave like this:
A man cave or manspace, and less commonly a manland or mantuary is a male retreat or sanctuary in a home, such as a specially equipped garage, spare bedroom, media room, den, or basement. The term "man cave" is a metaphor describing a room inside the house such as the basement or garage or attic or office, or outside the house such as a wood shed or tool room where "guys can do as they please", without fear of upsetting any female sensibility about house decor or design. Paula Aymer of Tufts University calls it the "last bastion of masculinity". The phrase is thought to come from the 1993 publication, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.
While a wife may have substantial authority over a whole house in terms of design and decoration, she generally has no say about what gets "mounted on the walls" of a man's personal space. Since it may be accepted that a woman has input on the decoration of the rest of the house, a man cave or man-space is in some sense a reaction to feminine domestic power.
Notice where it says a "wife generally has no say about what gets mounted on the walls". I tend to agree wholeheartedly with that. In my man cave I have my guitars on display, my computers and a futon in case I get banished from the bedroom ( never happened yet). On the walls I have a neon Chicago Blackhawks sign and some pictures of more music related subjects and and one of my banners that you can get here at alterimagebanners.
My man cave is the most important space in my house to me, its where I record music and where I work in the Adobe Creative Suite, mainly Photoshop and Illustrator. I create all my artwork for the banners that I sell here at alterimagebanners.com. I spend hours creating clipping paths, color correcting, merging images and bringing my images into Illustrator where I create vector art for my banners and merge everything together to create a Garage or Man Cave Banner.
Lately I have been doing a lot with vintage British cars and American muscle cars. I like to go to cruise nights in my home town and take pictures of the awesome cars on display. I always ask for permission from the owners who are more than happy to show off their pride and joy. I use a Nikon D3100 to capture the images and use those to incorporate into my banners.
What vintage car enthusiasts wouldn't want a banner of their vintage car displayed in their garage or man cave?
I've seen some very elaborate man caves with bars, pinball machines, pool tables, vintage cars, vintage guitar collections, fishing trophies...you name it. The decor varies but it always has one thing in common, they have to have art on the walls that reflect the persons interested, thats why I came up with the idea of Garage Banners, so that every man can display his true passion on his walls in his very own room. #mancave#graphics
